Starting from October 14th, the Grab taxi app in Vietnam launched the GrabBus booking service. So far only Ho Chi Minh City Vungtau bus tickets can be booked there
The ticket in the application will cost 160 000 VND (6,88 USD). It will be possible to pay with a Moca e-wallet or an international debit or credit card. After that a QR code will come to the buyer’s phone, which will act as a ticket. Ho Chi Minh City Vungtau Bus will be available at one of the four locations indicated in the appendix.
According to Tuoi Tre News, the route between the 7th and 1st districts of Ho Chi Minh City will also be available in GrabBus soon.
Wungtau is a resort town located 100 km away from Saigon. It attracts tourists with a 32-meter statue of Jesus Christ, the largest weapons museum in Vietnam and the island of Con Dao, which is one of the cleanest beaches in the region. There are many Russians living in the city, working in the Russian-Vietnamese oil company “Vietsovpetro”.
The Ho Chi Minh City Vungtau bus, which connected the resort with Tan Songnjat airport, started operating at the end of 2018. The route is owned by Avigo. There are 24 trips per day.
Vietnam is the second country in the region where Grab has launched an intercity bus service. He is now also working in the Philippines.
