Netflix bought the rights to the Vietnamese show


Vietnamese TV series “Hau Due Mat Troi” (Descendants of Sunny Vietnam) will be broadcasted on Netflix from September 1

Negotiations between Netflix and the producer of the BHD series began in 2018. The deal was completed in June this year.

The “Descendants of Sunny Vietnam” is a remake of the South Korean series of the same name in 2016, in which 24 episodes of 60 minutes each. Directed by Chan Bao Loc, produced by Nguyen Fan Quang Binh.

The series is based on the love story of Captain Dui Keen (performed by Sun Luan) and Dr. Hoai Phuong (performed by Kha Ngan)

The series was shown in September-November 2018. Critics’ and viewers’ feedback was extremely mixed.

Previously, Netflix had already shown Vietnamese films, including “Trung So” (Jackpot), “Chung Cu Ma” (Silence) and “Hai Phuong” (Furia).
