The most dangerous Thai dishes have become known

Studies have confirmed that 5 popular Thai dishes are likely to contain E-coli sticks and other unpleasant bacteria

Risk group includes red pork rice, crispy pork rice, chicken rice, pork leg rice and papaya salad.

The reason for the spread of bacteria is believed to be the way in which these dishes are cooked. The individual ingredients are cooked separately, and then they wait for the visitors to order them. Before serving, the ingredients are mixed but not heated.

Wooden chopping boards are usually used to prepare many ingredients. They are seldom washed out and of poor quality, making them an ideal breeding ground for all sorts of germs.

The latest study was conducted by the Nutrition Association of Thailand under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn using 50 street food samples.

42% of the samples tested were overestimated and E-coli E. coli was found in 19 of the 50 samples.

There is no doubt that street food can be tasty and safe, and is an integral part of Thai life. It is cheap, unusual, and often cooked right in front of tourists.

But safety is paramount. The only advice the experts give is to warm up the food before eating, if possible.
