Palawan is recognized as the second island in Travel + Leisure magazine’s World’s Best Awards 2019
The list is based on the stories of readers of the site, who went on vacation in the Philippines or in other countries. It covers “entertainment and attractions, natural attractions and beaches, food, friendliness and general value”.
The “Stable Popular” Palawan only lost to Sri Lanka. Travel + Leisure have noticed that many have described the Palawan as “the most beautiful place they have ever visited”. The Palawan also made it to the top list in 2018.
Several Filipino islands are also on the annual list for Asia. “Cebu’s Longtime Favourites (number 7), Palawan (number 2) and Boracay (number 9) were on the list because of the “first-class reefs and diving near wrecks, white sand beaches, waterfalls and the hospitality of locals.
The site also features key beach resorts in Boracay and Palawan, including Shangri-La Boracay Resort & Spa and 4 eco-friendly coastal hotels in El Nido.
These 3 islands are certainly not new to the list. And it shouldn’t be a surprise, especially for Filipinos who are too familiar with the beauty of the local beaches.
